Cody and Dylan earned their Technician Class licenses last year and did a lot with on VHF and UHF in that time.  However, they're pursuing other interests in amateur radio and decided their technician privileges were no longer sufficient.  They founded the Atlanta Rabbits Amateur Radio Club and actively participate in activities with the Radio Amateurs of Cass County, as well as helping out at various repeater sites with the Freedom Link Group.

July 2016 VE Test Session with the Four States Amateur Radio ClubL to R:  Richard Arthur N5RGA, Charles Mackey KF5VAA, David Glenn KF5VAE,
Cody Goodson KG5HGA age 16, Dylan Goodson KG5HFZ age 14,
Steve Rogers AF5JR, and Jonathan Rogers AF5JQ

Cody and Dylan wasted no time exercising their new operating privileges.  When they got home from the test session, they put up an 80-meter dipole antenna and hooked up an Icom IC-7200.  They made their first HF contacts on 3916KHz during the Tailgaters Net.

Cody and Dylan have operated on HF in the past with Jerry Goodson W5BFF acting as the control operator.  With the new privileges, they can now operate using their own call signs.
